Omaha Moms Blog :: Introducing Angie

Omaha

Hello there! My name is Angie, and I am looking forward to serving on the first Omaha Moms Blog Team! I have lived in Omaha for the past 13 years. I am originally from South Sioux City, Nebraska, but moved to Omaha to attend Creighton University for my Bachelors of Science in Nursing. After graduation, I chose to pursue my nursing career in Omaha, and have since married the love of my life, purchased our first home, and began establishing our family! Omaha, Nebraska has always been the prospect city for me growing up in a small town. I love Omaha for the endless opportunities it provides for places to visit, things to do, and to build our family’s forever home. In addition to living in Omaha, I have also been granted the privilege to be a mother to a beautiful 3.5-year-old little girl!  Living in Omaha allows us the opportunity to continue to provide many new and different experiences for my daughter to learn and grow.  Omaha’s simultaneous ability to be a large metropolitan city as well as a home away from home has always given me the comfort and security to continue to pursue this place I can now call home.  Besides not everyone can say they live in the same city as the Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium, Lauritzen Gardens, and the home of the College World Series to name a few great attractions in Omaha, Nebraska.  These are a few reasons why I love living in Omaha, Nebraska!

Moms

I am a mom to a sassy little lady named Reagan! She granted me the title mommy when she arrived into this world in 2013! I should also thank my husband, Adam, who I have been married to for the past seven years and counting who also contributes to my ability to pursue motherhood! Motherhood is truly the most rewarding and challenging role I have ever taken on in my life. I have never realized how proud and terrified I can be all at the same time for one little human being. One thing that stands out the most is finally understanding the true meaning of unconditional love when I met this sweet little girl for the very first time! I find my true happiness in motherhood, watching her learn, grow, and enjoy all the amazing things life has to offer! The challenges of motherhood include the never-ending fear and anxiety of “Am I doing enough for my child?” Enough is such a challenging word to me as it may mean so many different things.  Simultaneously, am I providing adequately for her, while also taking care of my husband’s needs and saving time for me? My joys and challenges of motherhood continue to grow, and I hope you continue to allow me the opportunity to share these perspectives with you.

Blog

I am most excited about joining the Omaha Moms Blog to meet other moms who can empathize in the journey of motherhood! It truly does take a village to raise children, and I look forward to hearing the perspectives of our fellow contributors as well as readers on their personal experiences! I also enjoy reading other Mom blogs in other cities, and am looking forward to the opportunities this Mom Blog will bring to Omaha’s contributors and readers!  I know as moms, we all share a commonality, and that is in which we make multi-tasking look flawless! In addition to the numerous things you do, I hope you enjoy being a part of this growing and dynamic Omaha Moms’ team! I anticipate to bring to the table a unique perspective as a new mom who has continued to refine the balance of working mom, student, and wife.  I also intend to share my experience as a healthcare professional and how it has helped to continue to shape my understanding and perspective on motherhood.  Last but not least, I hope to share my thoughts on how I am continuing to grow and define my role as a mother and woman to inspire others to continue to overcome obstacles in life and pursue your ultimate goals and dreams! Thank you again for your time and opportunity to allow me to be part of your day, and I hope you continue to be a part of our Omaha Mom Team!

  2. Hi Angie! You hit the nail in the head describing motherhood as a unique place of pride and terror. I can relate to that! Shhhh . . . Don’t tell my kids!
